The following is a partial paper, writen my the American inventor and natural philosopher Connor MacPhie. The expanded and finished work should be forthcomming in the near future.
Theories of Ether

Ether was first discovered by 1852 but was not quantified until almost 30 years later. It is theorized that Ether is both a waveform produced in and acting in much the same way as electro-magnetism and a gas like substance that exists between the electrons, protons and neutrons in atomic structures.
In this paper, I will discuss both “forms” of Ether and how we have learned to utilize them to great effect.
First the waveform will be discussed in detail.
As we now know, electricity and magnetism are generated simultaneously and when either force is created. Magnetism can be used to generate electricity and vice-versa. This is usually represented in a 3 dimensional model where the current is passing along a wire in alternating current (shown as a sinusoidal wave) and a corresponding magnetic field, illustrated by a corresponding wave form 90 degrees out of the plane of the current but in phase. (See Fig. 1).
It was discovered that Ether waves, were generated by electromagnetic forces, and were found to be 90 degrees out of the plane of the other two forces, while still in phase with them. This is best illustrated by circles encompassing the two waveforms to show the intensity of the Ether waves, but does not accurately model the true effect upon the ether. (See Fig. 2)
The paradox is that the physical aspects of the Ether wave can only be measured in the Ether itself, being that it is the only substance that the waveform effects. Experiments to date have been unsuccessful in generating either electricity or magnetism by utilizing the Ether, but in doing this research; we have found certain materials that will not allow Ether waves to pass through their structure. The current theory is it’s the same thing as the insulation on an electric wire or shielding a magnetic field using a wire braid. The difference it has is on the ether itself, for when an electromagnet field is generated in an Ether shielded chamber, the ether within is excited to the point where pressure is generated within the chamber. If the ether were allowed to generate a high enough pressure, heat would naturally radiate from the vessel. The vessel became known as the Ether Reactor. This reactor could then be used generate steam, power a turbine and thus turn props or generators.
It was also discovered that smaller reactors could be used and if the pressure were to be released, this would produce thrust. This is the basic principle behind our Pulse Drives that first allowed interplanetary travel within our solar system. These were the first applications we discovered.
The second application of Ether fell into our hands after a failed invasion from Mars, the Martian Death Ray. This ray generated an intense beam or heat that would melt steel in under a second. Nicola Tesla later reverse engineered these death rays, and such weapons are now in use by the major powers of the world.
This covers most of what we know on the scientific aspects of the Ether. I am now going to discuss what my fellow collogues scoff at and dismiss out of hand…the esoteric nature of Ether.
The thaumaturgists of our time have been claiming they have known about and learned to manipulate the Ether for over 200 years, though they prefer to call it The Aether. Their claim is that The Aether is a psychic medium that responds to human will more readily than via physical coercion (i.e. electro-magnetic fields).
